Arifin Reviews Foodstuff Stock and Price at Johar Baru Market

Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin, Thursday (2/12), led the foodstuff stock and price inspection ahead of Chinese New Year and Ramadan at Johar Baru Market.

According to Arifin, from today's monitoring, the prices of several food items such as cayenne peppers have increased by Rp. 20 thousand from Rp. 80 thousand to Rp. 100 thousand per kilogram, onions have increased by Rp. 5,000 from Rp. 40 thousand to Rp. 45 thousand, eggs have increased by Rp. 1,000 per kilogram, and chicken has increased from Rp. 35,000 to Rp. 45,000.

Ahead of Ramadan, Foodstuffs Supervision in East Jakarta Tightened

"Some food items have experienced price increases due to increased demand ahead of Ramadan and Chinese New Year," he said.

Arifin added that his party will continue to monitor food prices and take strategic steps to maintain price stability, such as market operations and cheap markets and so on.

"The Jakarta Provincial Government will undertake several efforts to reduce food prices so that they remain stable and affordable for the public," he explained.
